1. Clean Up Your New Home and Get it Ready
Do not assume that the sellers have thoroughly cleaned your new home. It is much easier to wipe down your shelves, get the windows sparkly clean, and take care of dirty floors before you have your belongings in place. You want your home to be 100% spotless when you move in your belongings. You may want to hire a professional if you do not have the time. The moving process can be challenging enough – you will be glad to not also have to deal with cleaning a home.
2. Get Your Belongings Inspected and Organized
Look to ensure that all boxes you packed have been delivered. Make sure that nothing is damaged. Take each box to the room it will be unpacked in. If you have everything marked properly, this should be an easy step. It is important to prevent you from having all boxes in one room, grabbing from whatever box is closest, and making unpacking much more chaotic than it needs to be.
